Have you made a gain from the sale of a property that you did not occupy as your home? If so, did you report the disposal upon your Tax Return?
Report your gain now
Taxpayers have until today to tell HMRC about any unpaid tax on properties sold which are not their main residences and until 6 September 2013 to settle any resultant capital gains tax (CGT) liability.
HMRC’s Property Sales Campaign is aimed at those selling second homes in the UK or abroad where CGT should be paid. It includes properties that were rented out and holiday homes. If you are unsure whether you are liable to CGT we will be willing to help.
If you disclose voluntarily by today you will receive the best possible terms and lower penalties. After 6 September 2013, HMRC will use information they hold about property sales in the UK and abroad to identify people who have not paid what they owe, and penalties or even criminal prosecution could follow.
You should take action now and we are here to help.
