Whether you're looking for advice, an answer - or a new accountant - we're pleased you're here

Having studied engineering at University and gained a first class degree, Sue Keane’s first project was researching composite materials; however, she preferred life with a much broader focus. Fortunately Sue’s degree also included a business module and so she chose to try her hand at accountancy. She joined a Top 40 practice in Slough where she qualified and remained for a further year..

Sue developed a strong interest in small and medium sized businesses, working closely with the owners and managers. Much of her time involved audits, which required a good deal of travel. After the birth of her first child she chose to work part-time and looking for a local firm was introduced to Fuller Spurling in 1995.

As the firm has grown, so have Sue’s responsibilities; today she not only works full-time but is also a director and shareholder of Fuller Spurling. Her main focus is still on working with small businesses and their owners and managers.

The practice has also developed a reputation for specialising in Third Sector clients, an area of work that is highly regulated. It is one however that Sue enjoys:
“Charity accounts are very demanding and complicated. Even more so today with the increasing need for charities to earn revenue by commercial means. We find that our pro-active approach is well received and our clients make it abundantly clear that they value our support and expertise.”

A keen networker, Sue is a committee member of the Chertsey Chamber of Commerce and a founder member of the North Surrey Business Association, a weekly business network that has provided a great deal of business referrals to the practice.

Life away from work for this keen football supporter includes taking care of her family. Sue is also involved with her local community acting as Treasurer of her local Scout group.
